06/22/06 Cape Cod Trip
The weather cooperated on the first day of Summer for photographing lighthouses and replicas on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. We were able to visit 5 lighthouses and photograph them with their replicas. In the near future we will be posting these photos to the Chatham, Nauset Beach and Nobska Point Lighthouse pages. We will also be updating the Race Point page and adding the Hyannis Inner Harbor - Lewis Bay Lighthouse page.
The Cape Cod (Highland) Light in Truro and the Three Sisters of Nauset Lighthouses were also documented to be added to our featured lighthouses in the future.
You may notice changes in both the Nauset Beach and Race Point Lighthouse replicas offered by American Lawn Lights. As we become aware of improvements made by the preservation groups to their lights, we will update our replicas too.
The Nauset Beach Lighthouse has received a new entry door that is now painted green so our replicas have been changed to match.
Our Race Point replica now has a new, more accurate base and we have painted the entry door green to match the newly painted door at the actual light. We will also be offering the windows painted either green or white. Currently the lower 2 windows of the tower are green but the preservation group has plans to repaint the tower this fall and will be changing these windows to white.
