My "Spark Plug" Lighthouses are working replicas of the numerous prefabricated cast iron, brick lined lighthouses erected in the late 1800's. Spark Plug Lights earned their nickname due to their resemblance to automotive spark plugs. They were also called "Coffee Pot " Lights as they also resembled coffee pots missing their spouts. While similar in construction to the "Cast Iron" Lights, the spark plug lights were usually built on Caissons off shore. They were also wider and housed living accomodations for a keeper and often his or her family. The prefabricated cast iron plates were assembled on site forming the exterior of the lighthouse. This outer shell was then lined with brick which served to both reinforce and insulate the tower. My Spark Plug lights are replicas of the large, 4 and 5 story tall lighthouses built using this method.

My Spark Plug Lighthouse replicas are built with a 13 inch inside diameter hollow Caisson at least 5 inches tall. This Caisson can be ordered tall enough to cover a Water Well Head, plumbing or electrical appliance on your lawn.
