While it is not a required option, our security cable option provides a means to secure your valuable lighthouse replica when displayed outdoors. We use lengths of 3/16 inch Vinyl Coated Galvanized Steel Cable to build our security cables. One end is anchored through the base of the replica and the other end is formed into a loop that can be secured with a lock (you supply the lock). The minimum length is 3 feet which is adequate to connect to another chain or cable that you provide or to a dog run or grounding rod driven into the ground. Longer lengths can be used to secure to trees, fence or lamp posts at a greater distance from your replica.
Your outdoor display location and site preparation are equally important in safeguarding your replica lighthouse. Before ordering a long cable, please consider that the cable is permanently attached through the base of your replica.
If you plan to display your replica inside your home during the winter season, you will have to contend with a lengthy cable. It can easily be coiled and hidden but it can not be removed.
A short security cable locked to a longer cable in your yard may be more convenient.
You can make your own custom length security cable with parts available at many home and hardware stores. Simply order your replica with a short security cable and make your own length cable to complete the installation.
